Monthly Favourites // November 2016

I can't quite believe we're in December, but alas, we are. It's crazy how fast this year has gone, and I don't know about you guys, but I'm not particularly excited for Christmas coming around! :P What can I say, working in retail during the holiday period really kills the excitement. November was pretty eventful beauty wise though - I hauled a decent amount in the past couple of months so I have a few new favourites to share!

Cover FX Custom Cover Drops in G30
I've been using these sparingly over the past couple of months and am really liking them. My most used mixture is with the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue as it bumps up the coverage but still looks very natural. I've also added a couple of drops to my Bourjois Happy Light Foundation to make it more full coverage and it worked great there too! I'm yet to properly experiment with it, but I'm curious to see how it goes with non-colour products and even a facial oil!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has probably been the most raved about and sought after in 2016! I've been dying to get my hands on it for ages, but I had to wait for it to come back in stock on Beautylish! They have free shipping over $55 and it's very fast! Anyway, to be fair, I've only used this palette about three or four times in the past month but it is glorious! The shadows are SO pigmented and creamy, and subsequently they do kick up a lot of powder when you dip your brush in - so be wary. Other than that, these are some of the best eyeshadows I've tried for sure! I love the shades in the Modern Renaissance palette - there are some wearable warm tones, as well as a couple of cool shades and berry reds. The palette is predominantly matte which I do enjoy since I love matte eyeshadows, but, I do wish there were one or two more shimmers. I keep finding myself using Primavera as my lid shade (not complaining though because it's gorgeous!) because the only other shimmery lid shades are Vermeer which is similar but lighter, and Antique Bronze which is quite deep. I wish there was another medium shimmery shade. Although this is a very autumnal palette, I know I'll be getting good use out of it in the Summer - it seems especially Holiday appropriate too.

NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Black
Again, I've only used this a handful of times but I am thoroughtly enjoying it! With a thin angled brush, I find I can get very defined and hair like strokes, giving myself a bold 'feathered' brow. It's actually a lot easier to work with than I thought it would be! It has a fairly dry texture, and is well pigmented but not overly so. I remove the excess in the lid and I find it to go on easily and still have a natural finish. It doesn't take much if you want to build up to an intense brow though! I find the colour a good match for me too. It's very cool toned and not too dark or jet black. Lasting power is great too!

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Times Square
If you read my review on my new Colourpop bits, you would know I wasn't too impressed with the Ultra Matte Lips. Times Square is the only one I really liked and I have been wearing it fairly often! It's a super wearable brown-pink-nude and the formula is quite good - but not outstanding. It's also a great shade to mix with others!

Coloupop Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park
When I want something more peach and 'colourful', I've been reaching for Echo Park. It's a super pretty peach-nude that is very complementary to my warm skintone. I also much prefer the Satin formula as it still has full colour, and not too much shine, but isn't drying at all and sits well on the lips.

Kelapa Organics Night Cream*
I've been using this night cream for the past month or so and I am really liking it! Most, if not all, of the products from Kelapa Organics (a 100% natural Australian made and owned brand) utilise Coconut oil as a key ingredient. I've never really gotten on board with the whole coconut oil trend (mostly because I'm not a fan of the coconut scent) but I can get behind products that incorporate it so I'm not smearing straight oil all over myself! The coconut scent is definitely still there, but dulled down which is good for me! The night cream has an almost whipped butter consistency and is very smooth and moisturising on the skin, but not at all heavy. It absorbs relatively quickly and doesn't feel oily, so it's great for the summer heat and humidity!

Antipodes Manuka Honey Skin Brightening Eye Cream*
I recently got my hands on Antipodes' newest eye cream and since I love the Aura Manuka Honey Mask so much, I was excited to see them bringing out a couple of new products incorporating manuka honey! I'm not really fussy about eye creams, but I must say, this one is really lovely. I have and use their Kiwi Seed Oil one as well which I do like, but in comparison, the Manuka Honey is a little lighter and less oily, but still very moisturising. I also love the smell of it! I'm not sure so far about the skin brightening claims, but I don't have terrible dark circles and I'm mainly using it to moisturise which it is doing an excellent job of!

So there we have my November favourites! I'm unsure if I'll be doing a favourites for December (depends if I have anything new to talk about), otherwise this could very well be my last monthly favourites for 2016! I guess I have to start thinking about my yearly favourites round up...
